He whipped that guitar off without somehow knocking that hat off. That takes a lot of talent as well. :)

Prince did not come in, bust up the place, and take everyone's lunch money. He did an absolutely killer solo with class and respect. The solo was coordinated with and complimentary to the song. The sideways looks between Prince and Petty were : Prince - Is it cool if I go on? , Petty - Hell yeah!. Then you hear the rest of the band loop around again. Mutual respect and courtesy to pay tribute. So much talent on that stage.

All these legends brought their A game to the table on this one. Prince brought the table

Prince’s solo is like a final culmination of all performances of this song—the guitar finally wept its guts out.

Was almost disappointed that Prince wasnt really involved.... then he steps in and fucking kills it! That was amazing.

I couldn't see what the big deal was about Prince, then I watched this and crawled back into my hole and revaluated my life.

The crazy part about this solo, is that as boisterous as Prince is in this piece, he never stops playing WITH the band. Every note, every slide, every bit of virtuoso that Prince does with this solo is within the carefully laid out melody and timing that the rest of the band is playing with. Anyone could have been offered to solo in that spot, but Prince takes that space and does the most with it that he can to make it his. It makes me wonder as a fan of many all time guitarists what some others would have done with that opportunity to have another all time great like Tom Petty playing rhythm for you.

By far, Prince is one the the top five guitarist of all time. He made his idol Jimi proud.

He did things to that guitar that shouldn’t be humanly possible.

Prince didn't die, he just went up to look for his guitar.

I love seeing people discover Prince's otherworldly talent, especially on guitar. I had the immense privilege to see him perform on 5 occasions, and I can tell you that what you see here merely scratches the surface of what he could do with the axe. I have personally witnessed him play solos that match and far surpass what he did here. Not to say that this is not a masterful performance, because it is. But Prince routinely blew the roof off of arenas all around the world with his guitar virtuosity for over 35 years! I encourage everyone to dig deeper into his insanely massive and diverse body of work. It will be the musical journey of a lifetime!

All of Prince's notes are dead on the nuts, even the extremely high ones. Such precision in a live performance. Fabulous.
